Re: New Darksider
Welcome Mash,
I wasn't aware this board had numbers. If you go to gl1800riders.com and click on the Darksiders board you can get a number. They also have a guy that sells decals for your rear fender. Between these two boards you can get a lot of info on the darkside.

PM Murgie over on the GL1800 Board. He will get you on the list and a number.
There's also some rumor about cookies, but ..... You know.

Re: New Darksider
Took my first ride, 100 miles on the Dunlop Wintersport run flat Friday. Will NEVER have a MT on the rear again. I do have a new E3 on the front also. My 90 Goldwing rode like a new bike today. Held the road like it was on rails. Also much smoother ride.
When my friend and I mounted the tires, I also bought a Tire Guard system. I was working on something else when he put the air in the tires. They both seemed 1 pound low on the TPMS. He told me that was ok because when I start riding the pressure will be OK. As I rode yesterday I watched the air pressure increase to the proper setting. I like 42 in the front and we tried 35 in the CT. The temp outside was only 79 but the tires did heat up some. 90 on the front tire and 105 on the rear tire.
Maybe it was just me but the bike took off so much better than before. Living in the New Orleans area I took a river road ride to help scuff up the tires. It is only 35 to 45 mph but I figured it would be a good speed to get use to the new tire and break them in on a bunch of turns. Well let me tell you, I have just become a better rider because of this tire. Where I was fighting the bike to turn before, this time I found myself getting too close to the center line or road's edge because the bike turned so well. At one point there is a turn marked 15mph. I went through it at 30mph and thought something was wrong so I went back through it again and could not believe how easy it was. Went back one more time at 45mph and scrapped my air horn. ha ha ha ha Oh well I will have to watch it.
Bottom line WHAT A RIDE. I can't wait for my better half and I to go for a ride. Maybe today, the temp is suppose to be 80 today

Nice evaluation of your experience, glad it turned out so good for you that quick. Most get there but it usually takes a few rides for them to get comfortable with it.It just gets better from here.
