Almost ready to go darkside but need some help
I have to replace the rear tire on my VTX 1800 this month but im having some trouble finding a tire.
I have been told that both the Goodyear TT and the Hydroedge are discontinued.
That kind of pisses me off I finally get to go darkside and the two most popular tires are no longer being made :p
I am thinking of going with another good tire the Yokohama Avid Envigor.
I just have a few quick questions.
If I track down an old Hydroedge or get a Yoko what sizes do I need for an 1800 N without modding.
What are the advantages of the different hights in these tires.
Are there any new tires that have replaced these discontinued models yet.
What options do I have for a darkside front tire to go with this. I cant seem to find a Metzler.
Can I use Dynabeads with either one and where do I get those and what weight.
Whats the mileage of the Yokos.
What pressure should I be running at single rider and two riders.
Do I have to take the huge rear fender off to remove the wheel.
I am looking for a smoother ride first.
Then good handling and lastly mileage.
Thank you for your time !

Re: Almost ready to go darkside but need some help
Just a quick update.
Phoning around to find the Yokohama Envigor im told that the 205/65/16 is also discontinued but they have the 205/60/16 and there doesnt seem to be a 70/16.
I have found a Yokohama 206/60/16 for $170
And a Goodyear TT assurance H in 205/60/16 for $228
Or Yokohama 60/16s for $250 on one months backorder.
Thats what my choices seem to be narrowd down to... are there any other options ?

Re: Almost ready to go darkside but need some help
Nearly any tire in that size will fit, look for one with an appropriate speed rating. I have been recommending staying away from Falken, just because it seems that there are one or 2 styles with some softer sidewalls that can feel squirrly from what I have heard...
