I have succumbed to the Darkside!
Well folks, I put it on last night and rode it to work this morning. All I can say is, COOL! I put on a GYTT 205 60 16 on my Neo. I had my local bike shop mount it for me and the owner just laughed at me and rolled his eyes. He has mounted a few in the past for GW and Valk riders so it wasn't a supprise for him. (BTW he chaged me $10 for the mounting, lets just say I do a lot of business with him and he is paying me back for keeping him in business.) It was a little difficult getting the tire on the bike, I had to let the air out to get the tread part past the axel mount and the rear drive and had my jack up all the way. Once it got past the mounting point it just sliped right on. I also checked my flange bearings and they seemed good too. I didn't see any spots that looked like they will rub, so I didn't do any grinding. I set the pressure at 40lbs and rode it to work this morning (20) miles both country and city riding with a few curves on the way. It rode great. Just like everybody says, I needed a little more input on the steering at slower turns and it likes to straighten up at higher speed turns. It rode much softer then the M/T over the bumps and I even scraped a peg in one of the turns. and everybody says it only get better!!!!

Re: I have succumbed to the Darkside!
Cliff.
Gonna need to see a picture of that bad boy.
$10 for mounting the tire is a great price.
My local dealer said "they only mount things they sell, and the car dealer across the street dosen't sell motorcycle tires so they don't sell car tires, anyway why would you want to do something that dumb."
I just walked away shaking my head. You cant teach a know it all anything.

Re: I have succumbed to the Darkside!
Here is an update on the Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread. I put about 1500 miles on the tire within the last month and all I can say is WONDERFUL! I rode about 300 miles to Kansas City in the rain on the turnpike at about 80-90 Mph indicated and never had a slip! Then I road back roads home for another 400 miles in the rain doing between 45-80 mph and never had a slip again, even going thru some nice twisties. This tire just rocks. I am running 38 psi in it and have a Metz 880 (new) on the front running 40 psi. I put Progressive 440 12" on the rear at the same time and I do notice that I tend to drag my pegs about 2x as I did before. I don't know if it is due to the tire or the somewhat shorter(1/4') shocks. After about the first 100 miles I was used to the way it handled and now I can't tell there is any difference between it and the MT, even at slow speeds. I am sure this tire is going to hit close to 25,000 miles or more on my bike. I am sold on the Darkside!

Put the bomb explosion coming out of the center of the tire. Use the logo pic, take out the death star, and put the explosion there. THAT would be good.
Of course a video of a MC with CT rolling down the road, then bursting into flames would be good too!
