I do a lot of long distance rides 2 up. Looking for the right tire for the extra weight I will be carrying.the two of us and all of our gear is approx 400 to 450 lbs. don't really want to go to a smaller tire. Any help will be appreciated. Thank guys.

Welcome Welcome

On your R model a 205/60or65/16 will work just fine.
If your legs are of the shorter variety, or if you are worried about clearance when you are loaded up,
a 60 series tire would be better for you.
I know several guys who use the Goodyear Assurance TripleTred.
It works well on the highway and has a load rating of over 1300lbs. thumbup

Hi, I am riding a 03 VTX 1800R with a Michelin Hydro Edge 205-65-16 I run 35Psi. I ride 2 up with a little more weight than you are talking about and have not had any problems with this tire. I would have put it on a lot sooner if I had known how well it works. If you have 1/8" clerance you are OK it will never rub. I had to adjust the fender bracket to get the clearance.
