Ready to go Darkside, but a few questions..
Ok I'm ready to make the move to the Darkside. I've researched it, rode a buddy's bike with a CT on the back and my bike is currently sitting in the carport with a leak around where I ran over a screw back in July and plugged my MT. I've read some reports on the VTXcafe on here as well as some other resources and decided I like the shape and tread pattern of the Yokohama AVID ENVigor P205/65R16 94H due to the "more rounded" corners over the Good Year Triple Tread or the Michelin HydroEdge. Problem is I live in Tuscaloosa, AL and no one within 30 miles of me sells this tire. I have researched some on line retailers but I'm concerned that they may be selling old stock and I don't want to get shafted on my purchase and spoil the beginning of my journey to the dark side..
Does anyone have suggestions of other tires similar to the Yokohama I like or experience buying tires from on line retailers? Also, I since I'm putting a CT on a bike is there any sense in getting road hazard? Will anyone honor road hazard with the car installed on a motorcycle?
Please help.. it's killing me looking at my bike sitting helplessly in my carport!

Re: Ready to go Darkside, but a few questions..
I have purchased many tires from Tire Rack and they have all been less than a year old. Great Service too!
I can also tell you the Michelin HydroEdge is a soft riding tire that stucks like glue and
has no problem leaning over.
Once you mount it on the motorcycle rim it pulls the sidewalls in a bit and takes
that square look away that they have when unmounted, if that's what you are worried about.
I have never bothered with the road hazard insurance they want to sell you.

Re: Ready to go Darkside, but a few questions..
Thanks for the input!
Yesterday I placed my order for 1 Yokohama Avid Envigor, through Discount Tire Direct after calling around town looking for someone that sold it locally (and yes, got to hear everyone's opinion about putting a CT on a Motorcycle as well as some rather humorous opinions on the matter).
I got the tracking info today and I should have my tire Friday evening! I'm on night shift this week so I won't be able to do anything with it until Saturday when I get up... I'm anxious to get it mounted and broke in! I'm also looking forward to getting to "Wrench" on my X some more as I remove the back wheel for the first time. I also ordered 80 degree valve stems and some Dynabeads so as soon as it all gets here, I'll be set to go! One of my buddies who has already been riding dark side for 20,000 -30,000 miles knows someone local who will mount it, so it would appear I'm all set once I get the shipments in!
