Ok so a 205/60r/16 should work for the rear, what do you recommend for the front? MT or CT? Size?
I run a stock bike except for bags, windshield, and floorboards. Big guy 290 lbs and only ride solo.
Thanks for any help.

On a car you can't mix bias ply and radials, same on bikes I assume.

Thats not right. Some bikes even come from the factory with a mix of bias ply and radial tires. Bias up front with a radial out back. Yamaha does this and that is how I have my VT1100-T set up and it rides great.bluzjamer wrote:On a car you can't mix bias ply and radials, same on bikes I assume.

Have a Nexen 5000 on the rear 205/65 and a Michelin Pilot Active rear MC tire on the front- reversed rotation. GREAT setup and one of the best 'front' tires I've ever ridden. Same size as stock.

Still haven't gotten the new tires. Lucky if I put a couple of tanks though the bike this year. Where did you get the Nexen and the Michlin? Online or local shop. I've always had a bike but the last one I tore down was a KZ1000 in 77 or 78. Any effect noticeable on the front being reversed? Will probably have the tires installed at a shop, will that be a hassle due to rear being a CT and front being reversed. I ask this due to a ton of hassle I got one time from a tire center when I wanted to only put two snow tires on the rear of my SUV and another time when my wife picked up a nail in her sidewall and because the tires were discontinued they would not put a mismatched replacement on the SUV and we had to get 4 new tires. I would have told them to put the spare on and driven elsewhere but she was there and said to go ahead. We did get decent credit on the undamaged tires but they only had like 10K on them.
Current tires on the bike only have 7K on them but they are 10 years old, no burnouts on rear.

While I am NOT a walart shopper that is here the Nexen was purchased. I just take the wheels and tires to a local mom & pop tire shop and have them mounted. Never an issue. Use RideOn for balancing and flat protection. Works great. Got the Mich at Bike Bandit.
