Another sport tourer goes darkside
Hi fellas, I had the good fortune to join COG a couple years back and one fellow member who lives in my area kept tellin me about this guy who was running a car tire on his Connie. I thought to myself "hmm, this guys sounds just crazy enough that I want to meet him and find out more about the CT stuff". Well as luck would have it I found his contact info from the COG site and dropped him an email and look what happened.
I like dandemotoman, am running a federal tire on a 2006 Kawi Concours using a ZL rear wheel. I only have a couple hundred miles on her so far with the CT and I'm going through a slow but sure trust building in the tire. Oddly enough the front end seems to steer far lighter now with the car tire than it did with the bt on it's rear. Anyhoo, I'm enjoying the experiment and looking forward to the time I can say "I'm never going back"!
Thanks to Dan for all his input and encouragement and also in helping me with finding the appropriate wheel. Youdamandan!

Ian,
My pleasure to share my experience. The xtra ZL wheel was needing a home also!
After last weekend hosting the NWCOG Volcano (Mt St Helens) Ride, one rider mentioned the fast pace and was introduced to the car tire rider leading the group.
I have 35k mi on the rear Federal tire so far.
Front? It has been done I read.
