Double Darkside Question:
Double Darkside Question:
Ok, Ihave a 130-70-18 on the front... And am thinking about doing the Double Darkside.
My question is, what are the recommended tires, and which ones do you reverse the direction?
Looking for options, so what U got?

Re: Double Darkside Question:
I run the Avon roadrider rear tire on my front. It was designed for front or rear fitment. So I run it in regular rotation with the arrows.

Re: Double Darkside Question:
Mountain tested the S-11 Spitfire from Bridgestone this weekend on a 250 mile birthday ride. Absolutely heads and tails a better tire than the Dunny, as expected. Smooooooth and very very sticky in the twisties. Best of all, it doesn't move a bit over the tar snakes...but it makes a sorta "naaaack" sound when rolling over them, straight up or on a curve. I guess it's all that traction, sounding like riding on wet glue!!! Stock size was totally sufficient at 130mm leading my 175mm rear, handling awesomely.

Where can I find the information stating that the Avon Roadrider rear is designed for front or rear?
Thanks

We just use it as a front.
It was NOT designed as a front tire !

Couldn't find one big enough for the R/S model or I would have tried it this time.

Re: Double Darkside Question:
Not big enough? Even in a rear? That's what I'm using, in forward direction. Heading for a parking lot now to play in the cones while wifey shops. I wanna see how it does in the keyhole and cone weaves.
From all I've read before buying, I think I've become a huge Bridgestone fan. You just don't see many complaints about them, and they're a LOT cheaper than Michelins. I'm starting to see some complaints about the Dunny E-3's lately, which surprised me. It was SUPPOSED to be the 'BOMB'...NOT!
Dang. Raincloud came thru and I had to help with shopping. If it were dry out, I'd go for a night ride- smells so sweeeeet out there!

Re: Double Darkside Question:
Wanted to try DDS on the cheap so picked up a Kenda for my 1800 C. Under $60 and it is doing fine. Have been in some NASTY rain and no issues. Does howl a bit in high speed turns. Will be staying DDS but MTL a higher end tire next time.

Re: Double Darkside Question:
If you have an 1800 should'nt you have a 150-80/18 on front. I do but then mine is the first year for the retro. I don't know about all the other models.ToMang07 wrote:Double Darkside Question:

Did the same thing- My Kenda is having SIGNIFICANT tread separation. Please check your tire closely.
