considering darkside, questions, isn't a car tire heavier than a motorcycle tire, what does it do to your gas milage, and how much does it effect balance? any and all opinions will be appreciate. Thanks

Didn't compare weight but best I can remember handling both mounted tires there wasn't a drastic difference on mine.Fuel mileage is about the same.Balance is better.Traction and handling has greatly improved.

Re: ct vs.mt
My right wrist affects gas mileage way more than the car tire might.
If I take it easy I get 40-42 mpg with the car tire.
Not sure what you are asking about "balance",,, The car tire wants to stand up, so straight tracking is very good.
It requires a tiny bit more counter steering effort to lean it over, but once you find your sweet spot on pressure, traction and stability are awesome, especially in the rain!
You will wear out at least 2 and probably 3 front tires before you wear a car tire.

Re: ct vs.mt
most don't know about fuel mileage differences 100% because of the difference from the diameter of the stock size and the CT sizes chosen.
For instance, the 205/65/16 corrects the speedo error, but the odometer will now register less miles traveled because the diameter of the tire is greater. Numerically it would work out to less mileage most likely because of the slightly different mileage readings...

Re: ct vs.mt
The rolling mass of the car tire is heavier and the only thing is effects is acceleration. I can tell you this my gas mileage hasn't changed since the motorcycle tire to the car tire. I still get around aprox. 46mpg city and 55mpg or better on the highway!
But what I can tell you is when I had the 165/80/15 and it was lighter than the motorcycle tire, my bike was smoking quick. Between the motorcycle tire and the 205 car tire, the acceleration is about the same! Now the car tire though heavier stops faster because of the grip, so what it gives up...it totally makes up for everything it does better.
Balance is balance! You balance all tires for a reason and even the car tire is no exception. Once that's done, you wont feel anything but happy smiles for miles!
Thank you for you questions and hope all of this helps!

Re: ct vs.mt
Not to offend anyone, but I'll have to find someone on the Ill vtxoa who has a darkside and try it before I buy it just to be sure its what I want. I like the idea of a rr tire lasting more than a few thousand miles, and I like the trd pattern on the Gytt and I really like the idea of better traction on wet ground, as you can see i am leaning toward more pros than cons here, but I would still need to try it.
