Michelin Hydro Edge Empty Michelin Hydro Edge

For those of you running this tire what do you think? I ran a Goodyear Tripletred 205/60/16 on my 1800C, but with this N decided to go a little narrower and the Goodyear doesn't come in a 205/65/16 so I am going with the Michelin. From all I have read it sounds like an excellent tire, what say you? Thanks!

Lham ran the hydro edge on his 1300 for acouple of years with no problems,he switched to the tripple tread and said it had a better feel to it.

Michelin Hydro Edge Empty Discontinuing the 205 65 16

Post  Papa T Tue Feb 22, 2011 2:10 pm

I just installed the Hydro Edge on my 1800c. It seems good so far, I only have about 200 miles on. I was told though that this size was being discontinued. So I hope you can find one.

So I was told that the 205/60 and the 205/65 are the same width across, so if I wanted something narrower than a 205/60 in the first place, anyone have suggestions on a couple tired being used? Thanks!

I looked up both tires and the 205/65/16 hydroedge is actually wider and taller than the GYTT 205/60/16 as follows GYTT sec width 8.2",tread width 6.3",dia.25.7" The hydro edge 205/65/16 sec. width 8.4" tread width 8.4" dia. 26.3" these measurements will vary with most tire manufacturers.I don't have a clue why.You can go to tire rack .com and look up specific tires and look under specs.at the bottom of the listing to find out your information.hope this helps.

I have a GY assurence now and has only 25,000 miles and have 2/32 tread left from the wear bars...so its about time for another tire... Discount Tire? best place to buy a tire or is there a better spot? Thanks..

Michelin Hydro Edge Empty Tirebuyer.com

Also look at tirebuyer.com. They are an online store with great pricing. Where tirebuyer beats tirerack is , tirebuyer.com has free shipping. You can save a few dollars. I've priced both for a Hydroedge for my VTX1800C. My local Big 10 dealer matched their qoute thou. Found a small independent cycle repair shop to mount it for $25.00.
Howards Cycle Shop close to Gulf Shores , Ala. 251-970-2664. If you need bike service around the Foley/Gulf Shores area ,he's your guy. I challenge everyone to help support the small independent shops. They seem to be the only guys we can really depend on.
