I see you had the same problem I did: tube blew, but mine was the original, and like yours, new tube held and is still in there. Mine also seated at 70lbs.
I must have near 6k on it with no visible wear.

As of this moment, I only have 30 miles on it.
First impressions? Solid as a rock on the straight and narrow.
Stable up to 75 mph. I'll have to lower it a tad, maybe add a couple washers...
High-speed sweepers are quite peculiar. That's something I'll have to get used to.
Coworkers have a new line, "Have you seen Tim's meat?"

Give it a little time for the neural learning to take effect. You'll not notice the countersteer pressure any more and get more mold release off, although I never felt like mine was slick at any time.
When you get back to playing with the sweepers, just start wide and head for the apex as usual, but with less speed than you'd dive in with normally, and hit the throttle. You'll feel the tire sort of "heel in" and stabilize your line. It's a kickass feeling, and you can work up to more speed later as you get more accustomed to it. I usually try to err a bit on the side of caution even when trying to keep up with my speedy friends when coming into a sweeper, but all bets are off once I'm into it. It's tricky being this close to the ground (Heritage), so you have to be spot on. And often leaning off the seat! geek
Here's mine today at around 6K - I'd be taking the Pirelli Night Dragon off by now:
Dern. Image won't go big enough to show the tread; there's a LOT of it still there.

Added a couple pics and mileage update.
I'll be leaving on 16 June for my annual ride and should return with over 18k miles on the Vred.

I have the same tire and its the best tire I've had on my bike and I've put 67k miles on it(the bike). The pics look great and when someone says that when you lean to take a turn that your on the sidewall just show them the little rubber tits on the sidewall of the tire and say "Yup I sure do, and these tits just won't wear out no matter how hard I try".
