lube for splines

Post  maurice on Sat Oct 23, 2010 5:51 am

I know honda uses the moly 60, but at $15 for 3oz! Anyone know if there is cheaper and as effective when removing back tire? thanks

My 3 oz tube has done 3 lube jobs so far and I have more than 3/4 left.

Moly 60

Post  newday777 on Sat Oct 23, 2010 2:53 pm

Yes some of the dealers are gouging the loyal riders. Check ebay and other dealers. Also, Locktite makes a moly paste that is higher rated, 70? I don't remember exactly but it has a higher moly percentage. You only need a little each time, clean the old off and use a flux brush to just cover the splines litely.

moly lube

Post  newday777 on Sat Oct 23, 2010 5:28 pm

Moly lube should be @$9 from honda. Call other dealers andget a price then let your dealer know you are checking prices he is chargeing you and that you don't appriciate his gouging you. Unless you want to be gouged anyhow. Up to you.
