Just converted

Post  walkermw525 on Mon Oct 18, 2010 11:55 am

I just put a TOYO T1R on my 2007 VTX 1800F. I went with a 215/45ZR18 and dyna beads. I am a 280lbs rider and have my shocks set at the 3 position and have the tire at 38psi. i noticed that the tire is closer to rubbing on the drive side than it is on the brake side but will not rub. i compressed the rear of the bike completely to make sure it wouldn't and have about 1/8 inch clearance between the fender support and the side of the tire. i am very happy with the ride and only notice a big difference in slow maneuvers like in a parking lot or leaving a stop sign and turning right. still nothing that would make me concerned for my safety. i have noticed slight differences like more stability on the interstate and a smoother ride. The big difference i am looking for is the life of the tire. I was able to get this tire online with free shipping for $160.00 which i think is pretty good for a tire to fit an 18" wheel. I have not had the chance to ride two up yet but plan to this weekend and have no concerns about it. if any body has any question please contact me and i will answer them to the best of my ability. I have included some pics of the bike with new tire installed.

i had it done by duffields cycle. I took the bike to him and he did the mounting of the tire and the wheel. he was also a dynabead dist. so he did that and knocked off the wheel weights. All together it was $70 or $75.
