Car tire size for 2000 Harley Sportster 1200

Can anyone help me figure out the C/T size for this bike
The tire on it now is a Dunlop D402 MT90B16 -MG74H
I cant keep back tires on this bike From what I gather the back tire is 5.20 in Wide
It has spoked rims that I am willing to seal. I know its belt driven and not much room to play with

That is one POS tire, for sure. You'll have to go larger in width (they call it depth) to get a CT to go in, and the smallest I could find for the Herry was 175/70/16 - called a Vredestein. See if you can get a 175 in there with a little sideroom for your fenders and belt. I was told the Vredestein would be about 6-3/4" wide inflated, and looking at mine (as yet unmounted), it appears so.
There are no thinner tires in a 16. Trust me, I looked.

Anything wider than a 140 will NOT fit under the stock sporty fender without problems. . .
Been able to run Metzeler 140, and that is really pushing the rub issue. . .

Beware with height also. . . you could possibly rub your rear signal wiring bare and have bigger issues than a pricey tire.

I am currently running a Bridgestone 175/60/16. It measures 6 5/8" inches across when inflated at 41 psi. i am running it on a 2001 Nomad. It clears the swingarm with almost 1/2" clearance.
