What can I expect with a GYTT 205/60-16 vs a Michelin 205/65-16?

Try this site. Punch in your current tire size and your new tire size and it shows you all sorts of stuff

I found a couple of others too. Looks I will go with a Michelin Hydroedge 205/65-16 as it will give me pretty accurate mph, compared to the stock or a 205/60-16. Plus a friend with a Retro had a MH and liked it much better than his current GYTT.

Thanks

This one works pretty good too. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/tirecalc.php

With the stock tire mine reads a -5 mph from actual speed via a GPS at 65 mph. The MH 205/65-16 looks like I should end up at about a +1~2 from actual speed at 65.

Hmmmm......

Curious whether I should go with a 60 or a 65 now..... scratch

Not sure where I have the 1300 FD already... and w/ the 200/66/16 metz I am running 1-2 OVER at 65 indicated. Suspect

I guess I ned to crunch the numbers....with the calculator and (gu)estimate which would be better.... study

Probly the 60 then unless you wanna further raise the gear ratio and lower your RPMs at given speed....

I'm OK with lowering the RPM's.... What a Face

It's losing torque that I'm worried about. That and messing up the speedo worse than it is. Suspect

After plugging the numbers into the calculator, it basically says:

If speedo read 65, actual with the "60" would be 63.64.

If speedo read 65, actual with the "65" would be 65.62.

So basically, my speedo would be about correct id I go with the 60, but over a hair more if I go with the 65.

Im no good at ath, but wouldn't I lose torque if I add the taller tire? Suspect
