Colorado tire mounting

Post  Hellbilly on Sun May 16, 2010 2:44 pm

Howdy... new to site, referred from the VTX Cafe. I have an '08 1800T. Would like to know if anyone knows of someone in the Denver area who will mount a Car Tire on my bike. Would also like input about best Brand, Model, and Size tire I should use.

Thanks,

Hellbilly

If I recall correctly, the T has the spoked 15" rims and tubes? If so it's a slightly different critter than most with the solid rims. You need to find a tire that is close to stock with a tire calculator (search for tire calc on google and you can find plenty) then decide if you wanna run a tube in the tire or seal the spokes. Both methods are being used successfully.... I'm not as familiar with the sizes and brands run on the 15" rim...

T model is simply an R w/bags and a windshield, same cast wheels, 16" tubeless rear, only S models have 15" spokes.

I'd go with a 205/65-16, if you don't want to do any clearance mods, other than centering inner fender brace on tire.

Did you ever get an answer on who would mount your tire? I'm in Longmont and will be looking this winter for a shop to mount mine.
