The name that place game
OK, I actually borrowed this idea from the advriders forum but it was fun there so I thought we would enjoy it here.
The way we play is to post a picture of a place. Then people guess where it is. Now, to keep thigns fun and not impossible please don't post a picture of a rock and expect us to guess that it's in Muntz's back yard or a pciture of a wave and expect us to guess it's daytona beach
Also, a fwe suggestions to let things flow and be enjoyable.
Don't post more than two pictures until your last ones have been guessed
If nobody guesses correct after 3 or so wrong guesses it's OK to tell us where it is, but let a few people guess before posting the answer.
Please try to number the pictures so if we're still guessing from page one and we're on page three it helps keep track.
Also, if you're guessing just post the picture number instead of quoting the thread. This helps keep bandwidth down and keeps the forum from getting slow from having a bazillion pictures reposted.
Enough boring talk, I'll start things off with an easy one, maybe two.
Picture ONE:
And Picture TWO:
Those should both be easy even if you've never been to either place.

Re: The name that place game
Badmoon, you have me stumpped as I've not spent too much time underwater. Maybe downtown N.O. after Katrina??
OK, mine were correctly guessed, so here's two more.
#4
and picture #5
These are a little harder, but still possible as they are well known places.

Re: The name that place game
You're correct on #5 it's the VLA (Very Large Array) near the middle of nowhere New Mexico.
#4 is not the alamo. If you read the sign it will give you a hint, just don't try to run to it or you will be out of breath (big hint)

I'll give a hint, 8 & 9 are both in Wyoming. Both are very well known and both are on national park lands.

Nope, the lake is in Arkansas...that's the hint.
Top one is for Texas folks...they should know from the signage.

I'll know the Hard 8 BBQ from anywhere. I'm thinking that's the one down in Stevenville since there's only 3 that I know of and none of the others don't look like that, but I' have slept since then also.
Toasted's second pic look like where he originally tried to have the M&G, but at those prices, it'd be great for the Honeymoon though.

yep, that's Stevenville.
And that's Lake Ouachita
Re: The name that place game
If you can get the first one, the second should be easy.
