What tire are you running? What air pressure are you running now? What are your shock settings?

Welcome to the darkside. You'll love it once you find your sweet spot with the air.

Try 31 to 35 psi!!! That's where most of the 165's love it! I think you are over compensating for a condition that is in your mind. It has happened before that you think it is moving around and it's not! I wouldn't go up...JMO.

Re: Tire is on
Gotta agree with Twin. I'd drop 5 take it for a ride drop 4 more and go for another ride. Giving a good foundation to make an assesment on the different pressures. You will be surprised how much of a difference2 lbs will make once you get close to your sweet spot.

Since the 165 is a VW tire. You guys could check some VW magazines like "Hot VW" or "VW Trends", they have to sale tires somewhere in the advertisements for heavens sake! ..... It's just a thought!

Hey Bobby how much does your bike weigh? mine is about 900 and with me about 1130. I started at 35 and it was too soft 40 feels alot better. I think i will stay there for awhile. I did'nt even balance it. it rides smooth but i'm going too put in some Dynobeeds..
Would you know the size for my friends Roadking 07 ?

My bike weighs right at 700 lbs. and with me on it and my accessories around 1000 lbs. I wont say how much is me.... (Smokey, leave it alone!!! LOL) The 165 is a light weight tire, but does a fantastic job. I loved mine for sure and thought it handled great or better than the 205. Plus it lighter than your motorcycle tire which makes for great acceleration characteristics, which I loved!!!! If you are happy at 40, then stay there...but I wouldn't go up! It's not a motorcycle tire, so don't treat it as one is my opinion. I think after you get used to the feel after a 1000 miles or so, then try to go back down and that way you can judge the feeling a lot better. Just about everyone has or at least the majority stated it was too soft and went up and then came back down some.
Dude, if I could figure out a way to the HD RK's......I would never have work again, because these guys would pay me for that kind of info. But the narrow space between the belt and tire kills almost every option because of the 16" rim!!! Sorry! Some of the new HD's with the larger rear tire can do it and others change the rim sizes to be able. Heck, my father n law's RK uses a 140 rear!!! My front tire is a 130.......LOL

Re: Tire is on
I've been running a 155 TA Radial on my Venture for about a year now. The Venture is used by us as a two up tourer mostly. I run the max, 35 psi, with the rear shock aired up to 45lbs. It's a great ride. I found that if I run less than 45lbs in the rear shock, I will get a wobble in the corners.
