Gotta replace the front tire...
...man I hate that.
---BUT---
The rear tire looks GREAT! I will post pics soon. I have over 10K on the rear tire now and it still looks new. Gotta love it.

Re: Gotta replace the front tire...
Go with the ME880s....last longer and rides better than the Duns. I'm still on Duns and getting ready to do the triple tread on the back and the 880 front. Had ME880s on my previous ride 01 1100 Sabre and the difference was awesome.

Re: Gotta replace the front tire...
I don't know about heavy bikes but on my Boss Hoss I have tried Avon, MIchelin and Metzeler 880 Marathon...and the Marathon 880 last longer, rides better, wears more evenly than any front tire I have ever had. I normally get 10,000 -13,000 miles on the 880, and so far they are the best in my opinion. But I ride a small bike...

The 880 rides and handles better also gets more miles than anything else I have tried on my nomad.

Re: Gotta replace the front tire...
On my Triumph Rocket III I only got 7800 mi on the me880, and I was on the cords at that.
I'm trying the Avon Cobra this round, just under a thousand on it so far.
I ride a lot of twisties, don't know if that matters, might.

Re: Gotta replace the front tire...
onei,
Find a rear application tire that is in the size of your front tire. They have twice the rubber and usually wear a whole lot longer than any other sneakers. I currently an running a BattlAx on my Wing-a-bago and now have 18,000 miles on it and expect it to go another 10 large. Yes, it is a bias ply tire and you are prolly running a radial on back. Valkaryies were shipped in the first 2 years with the same package. Radial on back, bias on front. Try it, you'll like it!!!!!!!!! Merry CHRISTmas to yall!!!!!!!!!! Still ridin' in the Smokies!!!!! Semper-fi Mike (see my signature for tire size and pressures)

gotta replace the front tire
Marine mp,
Did you turn the tire so it is facing rear or leave it facing the correct way?

Re: Gotta replace the front tire...
Klink700,
Nope, followed the arrow and mounted it the correct way. I have heard of mounting it backwards but there is no one who did it that thinks it is any better. Good to think outside the box, but this one is a bust. Mount it the way the rotation suggests. Semper-fi MIke

Manufacturers recomend mounting it reverse rotation. There is a big thread on this some where in here. I do believe this is this sites can of worms. Its about the only thing people will argue about here. You can search for double darkside and find some info.
