Well, I am here!
Hey, just wanted to say I got my tire put on today. This morning when I walked outside to take the trash out, I noticed a whit stripe on the left side of my Avon Cobra. With a closer inspection, this mystery white stripe turned out to be the cords if the tire showing. All kidding aside, I knew it was time for a tire. My life isn't worth $130 not spent. I have had my eye on a BFG Traction T/A, but the guy who I was going to get it through(for a heck of a deal I might add) was out on maternity leave. So after a while of calling around, and knowing a few guys who sell tires, I came across a 205/60/16 Michellin MXV4 speed rating V(a $160 tire) that had really good tread and was only on a Cadillac for a couple thousand miles until the owner put different rims on it. Now I understand a used tire can be a little sketchy, but you cant beat the price of FREE! Thats right, I didn't pay a cent for this tire. Sure I gave the guy 10 bucks for mounting it, but out the door with a new tire for the cost of dinner, I got pretty lucky. Tearing the bike down and putting it back together was a learning experience. I had no clue what I was doing, but I was determined and figured my way through it. It looked a little intimidating, but overall it went very smoothly. While doing the tire swap, a fellow rider and I swapped fenders, rails, and seats from his 1800C to my 1800R. So I am not too sure on the handling differences yet because the weight that my bike lost is crazy. That R fender is a beast! And, my exhaust is still off so theres another 40 pounds. But when I get the exhaust put back on and get some seat time, I will definitely let yall know how the tire holds up and how it handles.
I also just wanted to thank everyone for their posts and the knowledge I learned on this site.
Thanks again, and keep the shiny side up. Justin O.

Welcome to the darkside. That was one of the better deals I've heard of.

Cool, talk about a complete change in style too. Best deal Ive heard of and post a pic when you can. Ride easy and play with pressure. IMO start out at about 40 psi and work your way down to about 30. Im thinkin that you should be happy about 34 psi. That is just what others are sayin is the comfort level is. Remember everybody is diff and likes are just that. Good luck and chime in when you find your happy spot.
Peace.
