Mileage??? Empty Mileage???

Post  Rocken Sun May 10, 2009 2:55 pm

New guy. Just installed a GYTT Friday. I rode 200 miles on the CT. For the first time ever, I had 150 miles on the tank before the yellow light came on. My question, is this a fluke or am I to expect this regularly? Am I just seeing the differance in size come to play: 60 profile vs. 70 profile? I had my GPS going, and did a mapquest route, don't seem to see than big a differance in speedo (still 5mph off @ 70) or milage /- 3%.

Not sure what your used to. But it will probably go down once you get used to the tire ande start riding more aggressively.

Not an aggression issue. I have been trying to squeeze every mile I can from a gallon of gas. I'm prepping for a trip to Alaska and the 160+ miles between gas stops. I will be pulling a trailer and will be carring 2 extra gallons gas. I am hoping this is a result of less rolling resistance. I will find out soon enought. I was just wondering if anyone saw any gains in milage with their CT or is that 3mm shorted height making the differience?

Actually I believe with the shorter the tire the higher the RPM's which would indicate using more gas. I had a slight increase in milage with mine and I put it down to less rolling resistance..... Not sure what yours is doing, but have fun with it.

I have better mileage, but I get great mileage ridding with MaMa-( by myself-35 mpg- with MaMa--45 mpg ) so get your wife a bike(girlfriend in other cases) and and get better mpg.
There is one funny thing I have to say though, she gets 45mpg also????? shes on a 1300c.
