Bigdog,
You have posted this on the 1800 tech forum and 1800's have 16" rims. Is what you are asking???? If you have a stock 1300, they have 15" rims, but not the 1800's unless you modded something.

in the 1300 section they have a thing about sealing your rims if you want to go that route...
as for size, what was the stock tire size on that rim... I'll use that to compare it to what will fit in the fenderwell and in the swingarm...

If the 1800 S uses the same rim as the 1300 S, (I think that what you meant to say...hehehehe) Then check out my "Twin Wideside mod" on the 1300 tech area. I just installed a 205/65/15.
You can either seal your rims.....just look up Wayne's seal mod or use your stock tube. Both have been used with 100% success.

Then the Douglas 205/65/15 should fit your 1800. Check out the pics I posted on the threads I asked you to go to.

Re: ? car tire for 2003 1800S
Guess I am kinda confused. Looked up specs on 2003 VTX1800C and it lists two sizes for the rear; 180/70/16 and 170/80/15. Heaven only knows I am not an expert on what size fits what but looks like a 205 in either 15" or 16" should fit. Twin has installed a 205/65/15 on his 1300. I have a 205/60/16 on my 1800C. Shouldn't just about any 205 width and 60 or 65 profile work?
Goodyear Triple Tread Assurance and Michelin HydroEdge both offer the 205/60/15 and both have directional tread which is a plus. www.discounttiredirect.com

Re: ? car tire for 2003 1800S
depending on the actual width of the tire tread it may fit (BARELY) in the swingarm... the reason I'm able to run a 215 is it's actual width is a fraction wider than the 205's that most people are running...
here's what the guy who found my tire would work had to say about the width and I don't have much room!
granted it's for an 18" rim, but the width restriction should remain the same...
so if the 215 you are looking at you can get ahold of and measure it might save you the installation... If you wanna try it go for it! Let us know how it goes! I wanna know!

It was very difficult finding a CT that would fit in the swing arm. Most 215 tires have a section width over 8.3 and anything over 8.3 WILL NOT FIT. As I stated earlier I only found 2 that would do. That doesn't mean that there aren't others. The tire is a TOYO Proxes T1R 215 45ZR18.

Re: ? car tire for 2003 1800S
i am gettting ready to go to the dark side on my 1800 s. the 1300 s and the 1800s have the same size rim. I wanted to try to get my speedometer more accurate so I am replacing my 180/70/15 with a Michilene Hydroedge 205/70/15. I received the tire yesterday and I am waiting for the Dynabeads. i would have like to have tried the 215/65/15 but I was afraid of tire rub and I don't want to have to do any grinding for clearance. My question is with the stiffer sidewall how much does that affect spring rate, with all the variables how should I adjust the shocks and what air pressure would anyone recommend to start with. I am also planning to continue now with a tube rather than sealing the spokes.
