How WIDE can I GO????????????????
I'm going to a 240 fender. Can I run a 225\50\16 low profile goodyear f1gs-d3? I know it says 6.0 rim width but people say ct's aren't for motorcycles either . I'm also modding my swingarm for the added width. Thanks in advance for the speedy replies.

Re: How WIDE can I GO????????????????
There's only so much you can do to the swingarm, depending on the amount of modifications you are making to it...
Do your mods, then measure how much width you have. Then you can start shopping for tire that are close to that size.... hope that helps, but without any more specifics I can't tell you much more!
As for the tire, I think a at least one member on here is running a 215 or 225 under the stock fender widened with a jack and a few hammer swings to the swingarm... not positive on the specifics off the top of my head...
Might want to try and point to this thread on the general board, I'm sure others will be interested in wider darksiders....
You are well off sticking with the 16" rim IMO also!

Thanks for the info. What i'm doing is putting on a sumo-x retro rear fender. By your response the 225 should be fine on the rim correct? I think a 240 tire measures around 9" mounted and I love the look but don't want to leave the darkside! So I'm thinking that with the low-pro goodyear on the stock rim with the width of the 225 I should be able to save around 1400$ and still have the security if my CT. I have many years of welding experience so cutting the swing arm back and filing in w/ new metal shouldn't be an issue. At least that looks like what the modded swingarms have had done to them.Any input on this or how the low profile tire handles compared to the regular sidewall tire? Thanks
