hello all. just joined the site a few days ago and must say it is very informative. just got the grabber tire for my 06 1300c today and it looks like a good tire. the question i have is do i need to go with a steel valve stem or just stay with the rubber one than came on the stock rim? also what pressure should i try in this new tire? thanks for your replys. ole bob[i]

I put a solid steel one on the second time. The angled one I first used ended up breaking and leaving me stranded. You shoud be able to go to an auto supply store and get them for about five bucks each. Ofcourse the stock rubber ones work just fine too. Cool

the stem should be fine...

as for pressure start about 38 maybe? Not sure what you 1300 guys run for PSI..... and I run more than most...

Check the clearance. Make sure you can get a tire guage and tire pump on. I put steel on mine, but will replace them with rubber ones next time...might also get the angled ones....

I would say rubber is the best. I spend a lot of time working with steel, stainless and aluminium offshore. I have issues with putting unlike materials in contact with eachother. I know a lot of people have done this for years but I completely disagree. Fact is that two diff types of metals in contact with eachother do not get along and cause problems in the future. Just my .02. I am not trying to down anyone and say that you are wrong but I believe that it is not good.

I started out a little higher than MFG recomendations on the CT. I liked the ride I did have but I have not been able to ride enough to determon in I need to go up or down YET. Soon I hope.
