Has anybody ever??????
Greetings all!
I came here by suggestion of Daniel Meyer (sp?). Has anyone ever tried to put a car tire on an 02 Victory V92TC? The tire size on the bike reads 160/80/E16. I am not sure the bike tire numbers correlate to car tire numbers. I do know a couple of folks who have gone to the dark side, but their tires all started with 180. Am I just stuck cuz my tire is too small? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Has anybody ever??????
What is the make of the tire?
What does the bike spec say about tire size?
The wheels are cast, right?> (not spokes)
Do a search at www.discounttire.com for 160/80/16 and see what tires pop up.
Nice bike by the way. Daniel is a good man by the way.....

Thanks Steve-O
The tire on there is the only one recommended by the manufacturer, of course. It is a Dunlop D417. The sticker on the frame puts the tire size as 160/80 B16 75H. I'll try that link and see what I come up with...not too optomistic, cuz I tried the tire size calculator that Daniel suggested and it said "No known tires in this size". For a relatively large bike (92 cu.in, 1500cc) it seems to have a thin back tire. Not that I am any expert, only been riding 2 years. Thanks, btw, it is a nice bike...I tried to post a pic with my signature, but couldn't figure out how. Apparently there is too much in the 21st century that I can't figure out!!

Re: Has anybody ever??????
OK this is the old school way of doing this but , jack up your bike and strap it down so it will not fall off your bike jack. remove the rear wheel , measure the swingarm clearance . cut a stick that size and move it around anywhere the tire would go , if you bump into something that can not be moved like a bolt or something that can be shortened , flatland or removed then cut the stick down just enough to get it to clear . all the way around do this twice just to make SURE. OK measure the stick, this gives you the first size the width . the next is easy set your wheel that you just took off straight up , you can have someone hold it for you and measure from the ground up to the top of the tire , this gives you the height . the third is the rim size . Now with all three numbers you can look in the tire specs on the tire sights for your new tire, Good luck this is a basic way but it works .

I think your victory has a larger tire like the Yamaha Raider. It will take some investigation, but you will be able to find a tire. Might be a lower profile tire, runflat, or something like that. If you put a lot of miles on your bike, it will be worth it.
