Someone else chime in, but the 170 will be a little taller (diameter) than the 165. Double check the fender clearance, but it should fit. Make sure the tire is not too wide, 1.5 inches wider than the oustide measurements of the rim. Sidewalls should be flexible, rather than real stiff.

Post the make and model of the tire. Someone hear may have tried it. Good luck! Nice bike too!

OK this is the old school way of doing this but , jack up your bike and strap it down so it will not fall off your bike jack. remove the rear wheel , measure the swingarm clearance . cut a stick that size and move it around anywhere the tire would go , if you bump into something that can not be moved like a bolt or something that can be shortened , flatland or removed then cut the stick down just enough to get it to clear . all the way around do this twice just to make SURE. OK measure the stick, this gives you the first size the width . the next is easy set your wheel that you just took off straight up , you can have someone hold it for you and measure from the ground up to the top of the tire , this gives you the height . the third is the rim size . Now with all three numbers you can look in the tire specs on the tire sights for your new tire, Good luck this is a basic way but it works .

Snake,

Yes it will by the measurements of the tires that you posted. I had the same motorcycle tire on my Honda and went to the 165. It will be about a 1/4" shorter than the motorcycle tire, but it should give it a good stance and I really liked the way it felt with my knee bent a little more when I had to stopped and put my feet down!
