Mechanically Challenged

Hi everybody!!

I have a 03 1800 VTX R. I am running 170-80-15 stock rear tire right now. (Spoke Wheels) After reading lots of posts on this web site, I too want to join the “Dark Side”.

I am not mechanically inclined. Believe however that I can at least get the back wheel on and off. Not wanting to try sealing the rim I would probably simply use a MC tube.

Can anyone advise me of the appropriate size and of course, coolest looking tire (Brand) I can run on my bike without grinding on inner fender?

I have a 15 inch spoke wheel that for various reasons, I would like to keep. Financial, is the biggest one. I have read the post “Darkside tire for 1800's....by Duc” and noticed all tires are of a 16” size. Can I use any of that selection for my 03 1800 VTXR and simply substitute the 16” with a 15”?
