Darkside tire pics (with sizes please!)
OK guys... here's the request....
Pic of the tire along with model (IE R/N/C/F) and tire, shock length AND whether or not you had to "trim/grind" the inner lip of the inner fender brace....
Here's my 215/45-18 Toyo Proxies TR1 under the F fender with stock shocks. I did trim the last 1.5" or so of the "lip" of the inner fender brace because it was rubbing at hard compression.
Here's the same tire with a N fender on my F and 12.5" Progressive 418's......
still don't know if it rubbed (I only went a couple blocks on it before going back under construction) but I will update when I pull it apart!
Sneak peak of where my winter build is going....
Plus updates later with some shorter shocks (which I obviously need!)
This will hopefully make a great reference for people looking for tires and what will/won't fit or rub...

Nodakbassmaster,
I love the pic with your apes and the motorcycle tire thrown over the lawnmower...... That's about all a M/C rear tire is good for, holding things down.

Here's my Toyo Proxes 205/65-16 under my Retro . . .
I did some inner rail grinding as well. I cut my shocks (with help) 1.5" as well.

Here is a couple of pics of my Toyo 195/50/16 (1800R). I went with the lower profile to drop the back of my bike without causing any problems when riding 2 up. I love the way it looks and handles. It did make the speedo a tad bit more out of calibration , but It was worth it.

Re: Darkside tire pics (with sizes please!)
Hey guys! looks like the old same crowd over here. About time we had our own forum. (trolless forum at that!)
I'm doing some mods on the BEAST and had the fender off. Just couldn't resist taking this shot of my Goodyear Tripple Tread. I believe it's a 205/60R16 (ice storm out there between me and my bike so, just going by memory, which ain't too good now-a-days)
Anyway, it's on a Retro with 11" 412 progressives. Got about 5K on the tire so far. Looks like I'll get at least 10K more out of it for sure.
I'm putting on an N model fender and bracket. Has anyone run this size tire under this bracket? I fit it over the tire and have about 1/8" clearance at it's narrowest point up by the helmet lock mounting bracket. That's pretty tight. Any rubbing problems?

Dang, Easy! Good to hear from you. It's been awhile since we have been on the same post...hehehehehe Killing trolls without a license wasn't we?.... Glad to have you bro! Yes, we are "troll free and half the calories here".
We could use some more of you 1800 guys to give a bunch more data on the 1800's and the tires they use. Can't have too much data. The 1300 guys are here in force, but we could really use some more of you guys around. You guys have really helped to stick up for us 1300 guys when we had trouble and it sure has been appreciated and NOT forgotten from the OB. We need some more stand up guys like you and others.
Thanks for checking us out and sigining up. We are only about two months old and going thru some growing pains. But we gonna take over if they don't watch out.
Plus... Our threads will never get locked.
.................bobby
ps...I had some pics of a N model with your size tire underneath, but can't find them now...he has had no issues with his so far and he been darksided almost a year now. By the way, that pic looks bad without fenders on it.

Re: Darkside tire pics (with sizes please!)
Hey! Welcome, I have taken the inner fender brace for my N rear fender and it fits over my 215 without trimming... I'm gonna take the lip off it anyway while it's apart for paint just to be on the safe side...

Bridgestone Potenza 205/55/16 on an 1800C. The links below the pic are large format pictures of my bike, the first from profile and the other 2 of the tire from behind.

Hey Morgan, what pressure are you running in the Potenza, I had 44 in my Toyo, not really sure why, must of read it somewhere. The tire was not riding well, dropped it to 34 all issues gone super performance now!!

Re: Darkside tire pics (with sizes please!)
38 currently, but I haven't run other pressures to be able to compare and contrast...but it seems to ride and handle fine. I really need to bite the bullet and buy my own air compressor and a real pressure gauge tho.

Re: Darkside tire pics (with sizes please!)
04VTX1800C 15000miles, 8K since joining the Darkside. Riding on a Falken Ziex Ze 512 205-60R 16 Handles good, no problems with the twisties, only thing I've noticed is a high speed wobble at around 110mph. After doing a search, others have reported this about this tire. I don't get there (110 + ) too often or stay there for long periods! Will stay Darkside, but with a different tire when I wear this one out, which might not be too long by the amount of burnouts I've been doing lately!
up? Ok, I'll try to post pics. again from another site. Here goes.Well, if you click on the image you get the whole picture, http://webshareimage.com/images/6pkz242qorir62no6dk8.jpg
