Newbie question for 1800C Empty Newbie question for 1800C

Post  onei Thu Jun 26, 2008 10:37 am

I'm in the beginning stages of investigating what CT to put on my 1800C ... I've had my bike for just over a year and am not about to put another $400.00 in tires on it again. I ride too much for that (13,000 this past year alone). What would be your suggestions for:
  • Size tire without replacing rim
  • best place to find said tire
  • expected mileage from said tire

Now..........a little info about my bike:
  • It is a 2002 1800C custom (see pic)
  • lots of chrome
  • custom fenders front and back
  • chrome fork covers
  • lots of other mods

This is on the day I bought the bike

This is my bike today
Newbie question for 1800C 100k-310

I don't want to modify anything on this bike. I did not do the custom work (bought it as is) and I don't want to mess with this fender at all.

Info on me:
  • I am 5'6" and weigh about 145 lbs.
  • I usually ride alone (however during the school year I pick-up my daughter on it - there is a funny story here but will save it for later)
  • I travel for a living and when it works out right, I get to take my bike, which means that when I go, I am loaded with luggage. So far I have taken my bike to Phoenix, AZ; Lakeland, FL, and Osborne, KS (find that on the map). Sat. I leave for NM and CO.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

BTW-I'm glad to be here! :pirat:

onei,

Glad to have you here sir. You can't go wrong with putting a darkside on your ride. You will love it!

Here's a link to the tires that the 1800's are able to run. Now, all the other questions about what you need to cut or that mount up without any other mods to the bike.....That data is not collected with the tire. Just pick the tread pattern that you like and then we can help find someone with that tire and get what he had to do.

Lastly, it depends on how hard you ride it and how many burnouts you do..........Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing I put 15,000 on one with about 150 "turn the world white burnouts" and still had 1/4 of the tread left when I went to the 205........... Very Happy
