Sunday Mornin' Hope : I'm an Overcomer

If you say something about yourself (good or bad) you will become that. Here's how Jesus put it:

Lu 6:45 -
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

So what if you're in a bad situation physically or mentally. Do you lie to your hurting body or heart? Can you ignore the pain? No. But it's what you do after, that can change your destiny.

Book of Romans 4:17
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

God calls things that are not there as though they were. Rewind and reread. Selah (pause and reflect). Not to argue with God's sovereignty, He is God and His will shall be done. But maybe we have some opportunity to change the situation.

Last August I was diagnosed with prostate cancer that had spread to the hip, rib, and spine. I could've went home to die. Was I in shock? Yes, at first. But I have chosen to declare and live in "I'm an Overcomer!" And I remind God of His word.

Joh 15:16 -
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Please don't misundersatnd this and think we can just "name and claim" what we want from God, and not do the 'homework'. I have changed much of my diet and have taken 10 radiation, 4 chemo treatments. My PSA last week was 0.5 and my blood levels are up in a good range. Those are good reports.

Revelation 12;11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

I believe you are overcome or are an overcomer by what you speak. If you say, "My biggest fear...." then you have taken ownership of fear. If you say, "I'll never be able to...." you probably won't.

Php 4:13 -
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I have the privilege to go into the jail on lunch hour as a chaplain. After they are done eating we have a prayer call. I encourage them to give a shout "I'm an Overcomer!" Usually the first time is pretty weak. So we do it again. One lady came up to me and told me she has it written over her cell bed. She had been on meth several times and was afraid of falling back into it. Keep Amber in prayer, please. Now, it's fun to walk into different pods and someone shouts "I'm an Overcomer!"

Remember you can overcome too. Begin speaking it and let faith arise. You will overcome! I'm praying for that in you.
