We need the original tire size before we can to even begin to suggest something.

I just went to the dark side this spring with my 06 meanstreak. A 195 tire will fit without any problems. There aren't many options to go with if you choose to use a 195. I put a 205/50/17 on mine and had to make it fit. When I initially mounted it up, it rubbed the left side of the swingarm. I took the swingarm off, cut out some of the metal and replaced it, leaving just enough room for my driveshaft coupler to fit through. You need 1 3/4 inches inside. After doing all that I now have about 1/4 inch clearance. When going together with everything the final drive needs to be placed on the wheel without the axle bolt. Line everything up and begin bolting the drive back onto the swingarm. The 205/50/17 tire is close to the same diamater as the stock tire. If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask. Hope this info helps you out.

Not a problem. Willing to help however I can. I figured it out with some trial and error, couldn't find any info about running a ct on a meanstreak. I just knew that I wanted to make the change, and I will not go back to a mt.

Awesome dude! That's how I did it! First to have a darkside on a 1300! It took me buying and returning 3 car tires until I got on to fit! I just knew I was tired of the motorcycle tire!

CT on '03 MS

Post  12volts on Wed Jun 10, 2009 1:59 am

I needed to get my rear wheel re-chromed, so I waited until the mc tire was worn out. The wheel is at the chrome shop as I write this. I will be receiving my CT any day now. Knowing that the largest mc tire that fits the MS is a 200/50/17, I looked for the closest CT that most closely matches the diameter and section width specs of the mc tire. The mc tire diameter was 24.8" and the section width was 7.9". I purchased a BF Goodrich G-Force Sport 205/50/17, the overall diameter is 25.1" and the section width is 8.1". This CT should fit with no modifications, however I will not know for sure till I get my wheel back from the chrome shop. I will post final results in a couple weeks. Hope this helps for now.

That is the thing about this board. Lots of folks jumping in with suggestions and a way to get around the things that normally hang us up. That sure made my install a whole bunch easier and was more comfortable with making the jump to the Darkside. Best thing since a pocket on a shirt for sure.

Let us know how it goes.
Peace
