that's a good looking tire. I tried unsuccessfully to put it on my Spirit. But another guy was successful. It has a pretty stiff sidewall. He had to pump the pressure up to 80 psi and leave it in the hot sun. Post pics when you get it installed!

Gett'in ready to tear her down, (Kawasaki could take lessons from other manufactors on how to design their motorcycles, had to pull half the rear off this thing to get the rear axle out!) PhotobucketPhotobucketChecking clearance of MC tire at drivetube 205/65-16 is TOOOO close will go back with a 195 next time?PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketI think I have my pictures a little too big but don't know how to make them smaller OH well? Anyone who is interested in doig this I would recommend them paying a visit to HarborFreightTool and pick-up a tire changer FULL but doesn't rub (YET?) Got the air pressure set, close? Don't even know its back there (Had fun burning the mold release off for the first 50 miles or so) have to keep reminding myself that there is a CT back there I'm sure that will go away someday? When I had my CT on the Yamaha I must have had the presure way too high started with 45psi am now about 35psi does very well!

CT on Nomad

Post  Metalman on Sat Mar 21, 2009 7:06 pm

I have a 195/60-16 on the back of my Nomad and wonder if there is a problem with running the 205? The 195 looked very close to some of the components when I mounted it. Also, I've read about a car tire bead separating from the rim while the bike was parked. I also spoke with someone who had it happen. Has this been a problem?

RE CT ON NOMAD

Post  Larry Simpson on Sun Mar 22, 2009 2:35 pm

Mine is an 05 nomad,I am running 205/60/16 with no problems at 32psi.Only have credit card clearance on shaft tube but never touches because the tire grows in height and shrinks in width with rpm.Tire is GYTT.Ride SAFE and ENJOY,IT JUST GETS BETTER. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Larry S.

Hey guys don't know about bead allowing tire to pop off rim (I guess that is what you were saying while bike is parked) don't see how it could as it took alot to get it there don't see it able to come off any time soon. I didn't say mine was rubbing however don't see why its not it is so close in my opinion a 195 is plenty enough tire although the 205 does look M E A N back there! Anyway goodluck [GOOSE]

re bought ct for motorcycle today

Post  Larry Simpson on Wed Mar 25, 2009 8:24 pm

Goose if you had to pull half the rear end off you are making it way to complicated,I only pull saddle bags, back muffler bolts and shocks. I then put floor jack under tire, actually I put the jack under it before I remove shocks this allows the axle to slide out. Surprised Surprised Surprised RIDE SAFE Larry S.
