2007 Honda Spirit 1100

I just bought a douglas tire 205/65-15 for my bike I tried to match it up to the rear tire, and I'm not quit sure if it will fit can I get some feed back? if i use veggy oil or silacon spray how much psi till the bead sets.

If your tire is anything like the one I just mounted, you'll need a ton of lubricant and at least 100 psi to get the job done. If you're concerned about the 40 psi warning on the side of the tire, I wouldn't be. I've run plenty of tires up to 120 psi and never had a problem, in fact, I've never heard of a radial tire failing from high pressure to seat the tire. I have heard stories of old bias ply tires blowing out, sometimes killing people like that, but that was back in the day.

I just put a 205/70/15 on my bike. We used a great amount of pledge, 130 PSI, and 15 minutes in the sun to seat it. Not too difficult.

It will fit with room to spare. I have about 20k on mine. Used Veggie oil and 90 psi. Piece of cake.

Great tire. You'll love it, especially on the superslab.

Adjust the air pressure when you get it on. I liked it at 40, but the center wears out a bit quicker....but who can complain with 20k on a bike.

how much clearance do you have between the swing arms?

half inch. I can put my middle finger on either side.

Clearance is not a problem. Rim size might prevent a larger tire, but not clearance.

Just to let every-one know. Today I went to get my tire put on, and found out that in Pa. if you get it on, they will flunk it for inspection. In the state inspection laws they will only pass it if you have m/c tires. I AM PISSED!!!!!

Are your inspections like the ones in North Carolina where you go to any private shop? If so, You'll just have to find another shop to do your inspections. If there is no law against it they can't just arbitrarily say you can't do it.

Take it to another inspection station.

Pa has in the Inspection, that only m/c tires,,,, the inspection laws are so tight that, if a station passes it they would get fined

How do they know it's NOT a motorcycle tire? I mean, sure it's flat. It not round. But who's to say? Is there a list of approved motorcycle tires?

What's to keep someone from installing a car tire after the bike was inspected? hint hint nudge nudge....

I'm looking at the Pennsylvania law Section 175.160 and it doesn't say anything about using a car tire on a motorcycle. It does say to reject the vehicle if the tires have "other conditions or markings reasonably believed to render a tire unsafe for highway use." Since there are production bikes with car tires (such as the Boss Hoss) they cannot reject your bike on those grounds.

Interestingly enough, Pennsylvania law prohibits handlebars higher than shoulder height as well as fenders smaller than original equipment. Sounds like legislators gone wild to me.

Sounds like you got fed a line of bullshit to me. Some colsed minded imp who thinks that his way is the only way.

Persist and ask them, no, demand that they show you the law, in writing, where your tire isn't allowed.
