New here and planning on going DS with a Firehawk GTA 02
Has anybody here run the Firestone Firehawk GTA 02 ? I currently run Dunlop E II's with about 10,000 miles on a 08 GL 1800. The rear tire has scalloped but still a lot of tread left.
I got a Firehawk GTA 02 from a friend to mount on my spare wheel and try the darkside out.
I have noticed only 1 or 2 people with this tire in all the forums I have been reading. Kumo, Dunlop SP's, General, run flats seems to be the standard. This tire is just to try out the CT ride and handling.
Any Pro's or Con's here

Dogwood,
This is just my opinion. I would go with a run-flat right off the bat. There are some who do run a regular tire, and like them. I've always had the run-flats. Some tend to say a non-r/f will tend to be squirrely on the corners. If your looking to mount the Firestone and find it is a little "squishy" or moves about on the corners, add a little air to it. But, I wouldn't make a "darkside" decision on this tire alone. The Wing is a heavy bike, and in my opinion, needs a heavier sidewall than a normal tire has. Also, the run flats have a added safety factor built in....run-flat. Like I said, JMHO. Semper-fi Mike

marine-mp hit the nail aright on the head. Not all CT's are made the same. A runflat tire usually provides better all around handling than non-runflat tires. It might cost you a little more but how much is your safety and piece of mind worth?

This is an important quality for any tire to have. My car tire is the "information center" of my motorcycle.
