Car tire on a 1984 GL 1200

Can I put a 165r15 car tire off of an old VW bug on my wing? I've heard the bead might be tight and the rim might need turned down a bit? Has anyone done this? If so are there any details? I am going to be running a sidecar.

matter of fact Twin used a VW 165r15 on his VTX1300 about four years ago and didn't mod anything,
just cleaned the rim real good before he mounted the tire.
I know it's not a wing but the size should be the same , maybe the wingers will chime in with a 165r15
on there bike and you will have them tell you a step b y step.
