Update to Finally got it DONE!!
OK, so I put the CT on a while back now and I am still loving it. Took a little trip up to Raleigh a couple of weeks back and got caught in really heavy rain on the interstate. 80+ (indicated) and she stayed as stable as a Mac truck in a parking lot. Standing water, heavy splash, nothing mattered. Had her up to 100+ (indicated again) on another trip and the ride and handling were great. Been on the Blueridge Parkway and logged over 1200 miles since the change and can not find a single negative thing about the Protenza. I have been just slowly tring everything I could think of and getting ready to try posting pictures before I got back on here. As Twin says . . .Darkside Rulz!!!!!!!!!!
So add me to the list, I aint never going back!!!!

Re: Update to Finally got it DONE!!
Since I ride alone most of the time the couple of peps who have asked only knew enough to get confused. You know the look . Then with the S fender, saddle bags etc. you can't see too much of the tire on the bike but I can sure feel the difference.

Re: Update to Finally got it DONE!!
Nice job. Looks good.
I had the HD guy across the street from me surprised at my tire. He really liked it and had never heard of something like that. I have also had several others comment on my tire. No negatives yet. The guys at the tire shop that mounted it are really pleased with it and are about to mount the CT for my brother. They are glad to help. So if there is anyone in the Austin area that need a tire mounted for a very reasonable price without all the run around in doing it, let me know and I will point you in the right direction.

The biggest reaction I got was when I showed a couple of riders the thread with the durometer reading. One being a curiser rider the other a sport bike rider, neither could believe the ct was a softer compound.

Donnie,
The duro thread is eye opening aint it! I didn't understand why the car tire worked so good until I did the duro numbers myself and the nay sayers quoting useless data about why the motorcycle tires wear out so quick is because of the softer compound. Which as you can see from the duro numbers...that's a myth! The durometer link has sure killed a many argument...hehehehehehe

Re: Update to Finally got it DONE!!
From the research I did on temporary spare tires, I figured that motorcycle tires are normally stiffer than car tires because you wouldn't want them to flex in a turn. Flexing would play with the bike causing un-easiness and in a turn, you probably don't want that happening.

Re: Update to Finally got it DONE!!
you always get nay sayers..... i got this from a Kawasaki forum that i am a member of.
No spears please but regardless of any post on this subject, it will ride like a P.O.S. Yes, you can get used to it but the square profile will negatively impact handling. I see no positives for going with this this other than you might save a few $$$. Save your pennies and buy a real motorcycle tire.
