I notice there is no Victory listed, so I will have to remedy that when my Vision goes Darkside! My first will be a VT700, but I am going to try the sme size as the 750 Spirit listed.-----Metalguy

OK, I gotta a newbie question. I ride a VTX 1800S (spoked wheels). Is isn't listed, so does that mean it cannot be done or no one has gone darkside with a spoke wheel?

Metalguy & Scarecrow,
I've no idea regarding the Victory, just know they're great bikes and that there's
not one on our island.
Regarding the 1800 spokes, I know someone will pop up pretty soon. Don't know
by head who's riding a 1800 S, but there are more Darksiders with an "S".
Good luck to you both and welcome to the Darkside world.

Scarecrow
Scarecrow, there are several running a car tire on spoked rims, sealed and or tubed. No problems at all.
See you out there

Car Tires on MCs
I have an 05,1800 VTX and would like to know what the advantage to car tires on MCs is. How does it react on curves, Does it give you better mileage, does it handle as well or better and any other pluses or minuses you know of.
Thanks, Nick

tire size
Hello. Newbie here. Looking for info on putting a car tire on my hack. Bike is a 2007 Harley 883 Sportster custom, belt drive. Stock tire size is 150/80B/16. I need something with a longer tread life, more than 14000K's. I travel a lot of gravel roads out in the country and the Harley tires have good grip on the pavement but don't last long on sideroads. OK, a care tire
Next question. Are you using bias type tires or radials? Oh ya, another question. How deep do they put those magents down in the gravel in the road. Do they also change the country stop signs as well??!! or do they just work on traffic lights in the cities!!! ootpik/Doug

Re: Helpful cross reference for rear tires for all brands
Got the size that is recommended 195/65/R15, there are many tires out there that use that size.
I know that quite a few of you have used different tires and like specific tires, are there any recommendations for my 1300R? I would like a tire that has more MC characteristics than Car.

I don't know of a Harley going to a darkside tire, I have heard that there isn't enough room between the drive belt and the tire. As i said i don't know for sure I don't own a Harley now and when i did was stationed in england so I have never tried it.

You can run a bias ply on the front and a radial on the back, but you can't run them on the same axle, if you had a trike both rear tires have to be the same, bias or radial.
What is in the road is a pickup coil , like a metal detector but with only one wire that will detect something steel or ferris metal . In order for the smaller things to be detected like motorcycles we put on a magnet under the bike making the electromagnetic field bigger .
So motorcycle size looks like a car size , BUT you have to get your magnet close (12") to one of the lines that have been cut into the pavement in order to trip the light.
Good sense of humor on the stop signs , everyone knows that stop signs only change on Halloween night .
good luck , have fun
