In an neverending effort to control every aspect of our live the politicians have gained another win over freedom and made it a law that if you want a motorcycle license you have to take a state approved motorcycle safety course. You no longer have a free choice to do so.

I spoke to Cathy, the owner of THE MOTORCYCLE SCHOOL in San Antonio, she expressed her concern that the attitude of her customers would go from, Happy to be Here to I'm pissed that I have to be here.

Well, I have finally had it up to my eyebrows with the drivers here in Central Florida. Yesterday, while driving to church for a meeting, I had a jerk follow me around the lakefront glued to my tailpipe. I could tell that he was just in a hurry and didn't want to do the 25 mph speed limit. Probably thought he could push me along. Really got under my skin, but I let it go and just continued on. This crap happens about once a week and I'm pretty used to it.

So, today, as I was leaving work ...

It would probably be a good thing if both sides of the car tire debate sat this one out. That question has been debated ad nauseum, and this thread is not about that. Thank you for your restraint.

Ok, at 18,415 I installed a Goodyear Triple Tred car tire on my N. In those 18,415, I had gone through 3 bike tires. One stock Dunny (which admittedly is a POS and probably shouldn't be counted). One 200/60 Metz, and one 180/70 Metz. That's an average of 6,000 miles per tire. I kept 38 in the Dunny, ...

Needing some general guidance from those of you that tow your bikes.

Looking at Trailers. See some with just the rails. Looks like dirt bike trailers, hold 3. Not sure how to get a big cruiser on these.

See some platform trailers, flatbeds, with a front tire lock. Some of these trailers don't look like htey have springs. Thinking springs might be necessary for long trips.

planning on towing the bike to big bend, or places on business where I'll need a car, but want my bike for fun.

Help with Wifes Van - Please

O.K., I'm at wits end and I need help. My wifes van is a 1999 GMC Safari 4.3 litre v-6. It has about 135,000 miles on it. The issue that I am having with it is that the crankcase will empty oil into the cooling system. Usually takes 300-600 miles. In diagnosing this, I have drained and flushed the cooling system and put a fresh oil change on it and 300-600 miles later, I have put three to four quarts of oil in the crankcase and the cooling system is full of oil.

Now, there is no water in ...

I have 2,000 miles on my Goodyear TT. There are still a couple of small things to work out, but I am here to stay for sure.

For the breakin run my son went with me to the hill country of west Texas. We did 400 miles of highway (some in the rain) getting there and back. 800 miles was out in the back country on every twisted road we could find. We ran out of pavement twice and spooked more than a few deer.

I know a lot of us use Dyna Beads for balancing but is the "Ride On" tire sealant popular with Darksiders? I've heard good things about it from others and it also does a good job of balancing the tire. Unlike some sealants this stuff just washes off with water so a repair is no big deal.

2. Did you do it yourself.

3. What Tire did you use.

I have been reading alot of information on here about it which has helped alot but sometimes talking to someone in person and seeing it helps even more.

I have a 205 tire on my bike and it barely fits. So tight is it that the wires from my brake/turn lights are rubbing the tire when I hit a bump and causing them to ground out, thus blowing a 10amp fuse, which results in a total loss of power, meaning the bike dies. The tire is actually rubbing against the hollow bolt the wires from the lights go through.

Hello everyone, My name is Patrick I am new to the darkside of riding. Do not have a c/t as of yet but the force is pulling me. I have a VTX 1300C 05 with about 25000 miles on her. I am tired of the expensive cheep a** M/C round rubber i don't consider a tire the bike industry offers. I am here to learn and experience all there is about the dark side and future motorcycling experience. I currently reside in Columbia SC.

thanks Big "P"

My brother found this really neat tire calculator and sent me the link to it.

http://www.ajdesigner.com/fl_tire/tire.php

You enter sizes by clicking on and holding the cursor onto then moving it on the different aspects of the tire: width, aspect ratio and wheel size for the original tire and then do it for the comparison(upgrade) tire. Standard or metric. (you'll see the numbers change as you slide it back and forth. Release the mouse button when you get the number you want.) You'll see ...

After 2 General Exclaim 205-55s and 50K, , I'd thought I'd try some different rubber. After perusing Tire Rack, I came across this tire
