I know it isn't a safety tip, but if you are stranded it could get you out of a bind!

Smokey made some jumper cables he made out of some heavy gauge wire and it rolled up into a neat small package. We had....Someone.....I wont say who on the Darkside rally leave their lights on when we ate and came back out and the battery was dead. The only one who had some jumper cables was Smokey....and I'm thinking...hhhmmmmmm how did he keep a set of automotive jumper cables in his bike????? Well he ...

I've copied this over from a post on the www.R3owners.com site - it was posted by a firefighter medic, and checked out & approved by some doctors etc we have over there - thought it would be useful. The more people who know this stuff, the better.........

These treatments are written in order of priority, they should be processed and practiced like this. "Call for help, C-spine control, level of conciousness, A, B, C, Fractures, Treat for Shock"

OH S#!T !!!

A big ugly SUV had me pressing dangerously close to the curb today when he just whipped over into my personal space. Of course I grabbed the brakes and veered while his rear quarter came far too close for comfort to my front wheel as he was moving over. He finally stopped his incursion into my lane and whipped back to where he came from as he probably noticed my bright headlights shining up into his driver's side view mirror from way too close to his rear quarter and realized ...

Was coming home on 635 the other day. I was in the HOV lane, so there was a barrier to my left. It was 4pm on Friday in Dallas, so traffic was getting heavy through town. I was coming from the airport on 635 where it merges with 35 for those of you in this area.

I was doing about 50 when up ahead I saw the traffic in all 4 right lanes stopped. HOV lane was moving. I decelerated cuz cars tend to change lanes quickly, and from a stop to 50, I'd be in a world of hurt if one of them cut ...

One thing that I have done to try and let people know I am coming at them; when they look like they are making a turn or on my left hand side comming to an intersection, is to wiggle my bike at them. I try and move the bars and head in thier direction for just a second. I have noticed that it gets thier attention and they see me. Kind of like the flashing headlight. I learned this from a Motorcycle

Cop that pulled out in fromt of me in his cage and I hit him. He told me this after the ...

I figured this would be a good place to share those embarresing stories of lessons we have all learned from doing something stupid.

Let's see, oh yeah.

Never ride 29 stand up wheelies back and forth across the parking lot during your lunch break. 28 is OK, but the 29th one almost cost me my right foot. I was draggin the rear fender on my DRZ400S when things went wrong and the result RIPPED APART MY FOOT!!! Yes, that's right it ripped my 8" leather work boots in half and ripped ...

Title says it all. But after watching my grandfathers and now my dad have a bunch of basil cells burnt off, I'm a big believer. I have some in the bathroom cabinet. After shaving, I smear some on. If I'm riding AND I remember, I put more on. But at least once a day I have some on.
