I went with the Altimax HP and was beginning to wonder if I had made a mistake. I mounted it myself except for the second bead over the rim. Had to go to shop and put it on the tire changer to get it done. The size is 205/65/15 and using Pledge as lub it seated @ 90psi. With only 25 miles it is smoother and I see no problems. I wanted to pose this question real quick-like. . . Would a VTX wheel bolt straight into the place of a Sabre wheel?? Reason being, I have a 98 Spirit and strongly dislike the drum rear. So, before I went Darkside, I would rather toss in and partially fab up the rear disk. The original plan was to swap in a Sabre wheel. Knowing I would have to give the hydraulics new mounting points. Went to Darkshadow's, and we installed the tire. It went pretty easy. We tried using pledge to seat the tire. It did go but at 110 pounds. The pledge seemed to evaporate fast. I didn't put the dyna beads in right away, but I will tonight. Darkshadow also helped me adjust my rear brake properly, and replaced my drive shaft fluid. It was good to get that stuff done. I finally got the balls to take a drill to my Shadow VLX yesterday. First I had to loosen the muffler bracket. Jeez, that thing had seven nuts and bolts holding it on, but I did find a rattle that I had been chasing for about a month. Borrowed a 1 3/4" hole saw and a fairly powerful drill and commenced to drilling. I immediately stopped, went inside and got a pair of foam ear plugs for the incredible noise that the drill was ...
