How is everyone been around here? I have a question that has me a little confused. I have a wobble at high speeds and can't figure out the problem. I have a new metz on front, alls-balls, progressives in front and back with new bushings, and Douglas 205 on rear. I think that I narrowed it down to my Douglas might not be balanced any more, it might need replaced (down to wear bars) or my shocks are too stiff (412 HD). I notice it more when riding solo. I need all the tips that I can get ...

The report is the bike rides great, runs strong pulls hard. No leaks oil exhaust or other. The tire rides smoother than the douglas ever did. Took the tire and wheel to 3 differant motorcycle shops and all refused to mount the Goodyear. Stupid Boneheads. So I had one dealer pull the old tire off and I stopped by Tractor Supply and I bought a tire iron. To my suprise installing the tire on the rim was easy with minor help fron my wife. The local tire store gave me a strip of mag wheel weights and I balanced the wheel and tire easily by suspending ...

This is a post I put on the VTXOA board last Jan. It works well, I have been rideng on the same sealed rim since then and it has worked out very well, and havent lost 1 lb. of air. Even went on a 3,000 mile trip last Sept. So if you want to go tubless this is the way to go. It has been proven, and it only cost about $12 a rim to do it. ...

I did a 30 mile test ride (after I replaced my battery...it finally gave up the ghost) 15 miles of highway and ran my normal speed and then some and the bike felt just fine. Did 15 miles of back roads and twisties and the bike handled just fine ...

The shop that installed it, GN Gonzales, put about 45lbs of air in it to start, drove it home and had no issues and no wobble (It was hard to keep the speedometer under 80) at high speeds. I got home just fine, took her on a 120 mile drive the next morning ...

I know i have read this in some of the posts... but I have read literally hundreds of them in my initial research and my current searches aren't returning anything... so here goes...

I just mounted my gytt 205/70/15. What is the "Break In" and for how long? By this, I guess the points are:

1) How do I ride (not on freeways?, not on windy roads?, not faster than a certain speed?, not hard into corners (I think this is what I read)?, anything else?)

2) How long until ...

I pulled a Metzeler ME880 off the rear of my 1300C today and replaced it with a Bridgestone Potenza RE960A/S 205/65/15 and all I can say is WOW! What a difference! This tire is a big winner and really put the Metz to shame.

I had to make one air pressure adjustment and it was dialed perfect. I started with 40psi and I could feel the corner of the tire in lower speed turns which I don't like so down to 32psi and no more corner and what a ride, like riding on air, falls in and out of turns ...

After driving all over the Buffalo area, including the Southern Tier(Cattaraugus County) and having every shop tell me that they could not mount a car tire on a motorcycle wheel, because they do not want to be liable if somthing happens. This included Bob Weaver Motorsports in North Tonawanda, NY who has a picture of a dirt bike with a snowmobile track where the rear tire is suppose to go, that must not be a liablity issue. So on the ay home I stopped off at my bosses shop and used the tire ...

I have an 06 1300C with 14500 miles. I bought it with 12000 on it. I noticed the cooling fan never came on. And the engine clatters like a typewriter when rolling on the gas. I checked out the fan by grounding the wire connected to the thermostatic switch at the bottom of the radiator, the fan works fine.

Then I replaced the thermostatic switch with a new one at a cost of about $40. Still the fan wont come on when riding on a hot day.

So I checked ...

My S tries to wobble in curves, if I go into a curve just a little hard and there is ANY kind of bump or dip the front end tries to straighten up. Thats about the best I can discribe it, it's almost like taking the curve is small bites instead of a smooth arc.
I got my 205/75/15 goodyear assurance triple tread on last wednesday and went for a "test run". Actually I drove from Houston, Tx to the 4 corners and back, about 2360miles in 3.5 days.
Fellow DS'ers

I've been away for some time, but here's something for U.

This weekend I changed my DS and went even wider, from the 205/55/16 to 225/50/16,

Specifically I'm looking for a GYA Triple Tread or HydroEdge in 205/65/15.
And I guess the other question is should I go with the 65 over the 70?

I searched all through the picture forum, lots of pictures of just the rim/tire. Lots of pics of other bikes. Does anyone have some pictures of their whole bike with a CT?

I got my Grabber UHP last night, and to be honest I was surprised by the sidewall height and worried about the looks from the side.

You guys convinced me the General Grabber 205/70-15 was one of the better tires and that is what I got and it went on without a problem. Followed the advice on here and got a car tube for and it all worked fine. Tirerack.com was quick with their shipping. Glad I did it. Noone can argue with a c/t on a sidecar rig! (well, they can but i dont know what argument they could make!)
