Well, I was told that my tire would be in yesterday or today. It is not! I now have to wait until Friday. I hate waiting!

well it has been a while since i was last here (last may). i teach and during the summer i stay far away from all the technology and hoopla. i did however put about 7k miles on my douglas 205. one thing i can say is that i will never go back to a m/t period. my first 2 rear tires i replaced with under 4k on them. my douglas has 3/4 worth of tread left. the ride is amazing as you all know. when i first put the douglas on, i was running at 35 psi. it did feel cushy in the twisties, especiallly ...

I got caught in a TURD floater today between RoundRock & Georgetown TX. Now normally I wouldv'e seeked shelter and waited the storm out with the Dunny on back, but now that I have this new large slab of rubber on the rear of my VTX I figure lets test this puppy out. We now have other options for a Darksiding our stock 1300 and rim. We were limited on our options to the just brands of the 165's.

I installed a 205/65/15 Douglas rain and snow tire. My friend hick gave me the new name for it...."the Wideside". I will be posting pics come Monday. Right now you just need to take my word for it.

I will be posting how I did it. There is a trick to getting it on. So stay tuned.

Tire Size Question

I've noticed that most have gone with the 205/60's, or 50's series tires.

My 1800R speedo is inherently off by 4-5mph on the high side. (reads higher than actual)

These series tires have a smaller over all diameter and would not help the matter. (just my little brain thinking) Why not go the 70 series, which is slightly taller to regain the speedo?

Are there issues with other clearances in this series tire?

My cat got worse in the last 2 weeks and It's effecting the right side of my body. Looking for a little advice before I make any more changes..

Here is the story.

A few weeks ago and about 1000 miles I did the 8000 mile service. I noticed my plugs were dark brown, but not black or white. I figure maybe a little rich but not too bad.

I have a spare air box so today I deside to start carving on it. I can go back to the stock box at any time.

After carving and installing it I have a flat spot in first gear at about 2000-3000 RPMs and in second in the low ...

Hi all, brand new member here from south central PA. I have been hearing lately of folks replacing their rear tires with a car tire. I have a 2003 Shadow ACE. Can anyone provide some info on this? I go through a tire per year. This year is worse, I replaced it in March and now I am needing to replace it again. I currently have Dunlops and am very displeased with them. Thanks for any help.

Sitting next to it is my latest project; A Samsonite 22 inch hard side suitcase that is being converted into a detachable top case. I am so jazzed!!! I started out at 38psi on the 205/60R-16 ContiProContact 91T.. went down to 36psi... something wasn't right still......

I'm 215 lbs and have been on level 3 shock setting..

I burned my arm on the exhaust muscling that puppy to level #2 when we stopped after 40 miles...... BINGO!!!! WOW O WOW!!

What a f*ing difference!! I Immediately felt like I was on a mc tire again... HUGE difference!!!!

I believe my sweet spot: 36psi Shocks ...

Ok, been reading about the shock bushing problem and I noticed I had a wobble at high speed (95 mph). Looked at the center bolt on the rear shocks and they are not in the center so I am going to replace them asap. What was strange is that it only happens when my feet are on the floorboards. With my feet on the highway pegs it does not wobble. 1st question, the rear shocks procedure of changning out the bushings, should I put the bike up on my jack?
