Hi folks, I'm most definately putting a car tire on the rear of my RoadStar when the Bridgestone is gone. I have WhiteWall MC tire front and rear right now. I doubt I'll be able to keep WWW and will probably have to go blackwall, but thought I would ask; Has anyone addressed the whitewall problem and resolved it? Any input appreciated...............Mike

I got caught in a TURD floater today between RoundRock & Georgetown TX. Now normally I wouldv'e seeked shelter and waited the storm out with the Dunny on back, but now that I have this new large slab of rubber on the rear of my VTX I figure lets test this puppy out. Aside from the down pour there were also strong winds coming from the storm that nearly blew me over sitting still at the traffic light. Oh yea and lots of lightning. I got out on I-35, rain stingin my skin and hammered down! ...

Tire Size Question

I've noticed that most have gone with the 205/60's, or 50's series tires.

My 1800R speedo is inherently off by 4-5mph on the high side. (reads higher than actual)

These series tires have a smaller over all diameter and would not help the matter. (just my little brain thinking) Why not go the 70 series, which is slightly taller to regain the speedo?

Are there issues with other clearances in this series tire?

Nov 14-16 this year at the Dallas Convention Center. Same show might come to your town too!

http://www.motorcycleshows.com/motorcycleshows/static/staticHtml.jsp?id=358885

Wondering if this is the same as the show in Fort Worth last year? That was a good one! I like looking at the bikes outside as much as the ones inside.

So it was time for my inspection to get renewed. I didn't want to go the easy route to a jiffy lube place. I wanted to tangle. LOL So I went to a Honda Dealership. DFW Honda, in Grapevine, Texas to be specific. And I was ready.... The guy asked me a total zinger.... "Where'd you get that hinge on your gas cap? I've been looking for one since I got my VTX in 2002." He asked this question while he was peeling off my old inspection sticker and putting the new one on.

Friends, ...

Car tire for my shadow

Hi all, brand new member here from south central PA. I have been hearing lately of folks replacing their rear tires with a car tire. I have a 2003 Shadow ACE. Can anyone provide some info on this? I go through a tire per year. This year is worse, I replaced it in March and now I am needing to replace it again. I currently have Dunlops and am very displeased with them. Thanks for any help.

Jeff

Here's the rear view of my Honda Reflex scooter with a 145/70R12 car tire.

Sitting next to it is my latest project; A Samsonite 22 inch hard side suitcase that is being converted into a detachable top case. It has a LED brake light like that used for a truck/trailer and some reflective red tape. The other picture is a side by side comparison of the Bridgestone-Hoop and the Federal all season tire.
